It's easy to wonder whether or not INCEPTION was an even more influential film than some of us may have expected it to be, with recent 2011 releases like THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU and now SOURCE CODE dabbling so much in the idea of alternate realities/universes. Of course, while INCEPTION was mind-bending and ultimately ambiguous, these two early 2011 releases are happy to inform you exactly what thei... read more

Colter Stevens wakes up on a train, sitting across from a woman he has never met before. She claims to know him, but he has no idea what is happening. He races around the train, looking at himself in the mirror and seeing a different face. After 8 minutes the train explodes, sending Colter back to a capsule in which he is greeted by Colleen Goodwin. She tells him that he inhabits the last 8 minute... read more

"What would you do if you knew you only had one minute to live?"

If Groundhog Day was gang-banged by 24, The Matrix and Murder on the Orient Express, Source Code would be the outcome. Written by Ben Ripley, this sophomore effort of filmmaker Duncan Jones (Moon) is a completely original piece of science fiction which works so well due to a mind-bending plot and several clever narrati... read more

Movie Diary (January 2015) (15 movies items)

" I would like to review the movie in two different sections- The movie itself as the sequence of events and its structure (the structre terrific, in my opinion). In a superficial look. Spellbinding built-in. But it gets a little predictable and more like a love story, when will the man get the girl. though, it was still an intriguing tell. And the second one, the deeper look, the ideas the director wants to introduce to his viewers. I believe it was quite mind-blowing. I care less for the sto"

“Source Code is a great time travel piece set in alternative universes, and time lines. The story is about a man trying to stop a terrorist attack, and as he continues to do so meets Christina and begins to have feelings for her. There are parts of the story that don't make sense, but The movie makes you want to watch every detail from start to finish, which makes a for a good story. Overall this is a good sci- fi movie that makes you think right up to the end.” read more

“ "Source Code is not time travel. Rather, Source Code is time re-assignment. It gives us access to a parallel reality."

Source Code is a top notch sci-fi thriller with an engaging story, a great lead actor that carries the film, and honestly after watching it i was rather mad at myself that it took me this long to see it. I have actually owned the movie since its been out on Blu ray but i just never got around to watching it. Lately though I've been trying to watch more movies i haven't seen so this was next up on the list also i justed watched Edge of Tomorrow last week so that also made me want to see this. Just like with Edge of Tomorrow this movie has been called a ripoff of "Groundhogs Day" which seriously sounds so stupid because its not like every other movie takes the fo” read more

Review of Source Code

“Source Code shouldn't be as bad as it is. It has a relatively interesting and unique (if slightly gimmicky premise), and has some great ideas up it's sleeve. The problem here, is that Source Code also has it's share of terrible ideas and obvious flaws that send this initially entertaining action flick into a downward spiral that progressively gets worse until the film closes.

The premise behind Source Code is that a man named Colter Stevens wakes up in the body of an unknown man, on a train. Completely confused, Colter panics until the train ultimately explodes. He awakens again in a capsule, where he is informed through a monitor that he has the ability to inhabit other people's body through a process called Source Code. Through Source Code, Colter lives the person's last 8” read more

" Should have made these notes after I watched the movies. Saw this film 9 months ago and I don't remember that much. Probably tells me this film wasn't that special. I gave it 3.5 stars, so I'm going to stick with that. 7/10 "

"This one was a bit of a mind-fucker, but I managed to smack myself in the head hard enough to kick-start my little brain and I was actually able you understand it! Yayy! Jake Gyllenhaal is definitely one of our time's greatest actors and when you throw in underrated gems the likes of Vera Farmiga and Michelle Monaghan, you have a recipe for success. I love this film, it's wonderful and I strongly recommend it! :) "

"Watched on: 7/11 An awesome movie, one of my favorites. When I found out this movie was directed by the same guy who directed Moon, I was like "Whaat? Seriously!?", then when I found out he was also David Bowie's son I was all like "WHAAAAAAT!?". Great director and a fabulous movie, I can't wait for his next movie. Whatever it is, I'm sure it'll be awesome. "

"04/07/2012 Tää leffa on niin nerokas ja katsoja on urpo, kun se ei tajua twistailua kesken kaiken ja loppu sitoo koko paketin kasaan. Faktahan on se, että ei Source Code vakuuta millään tavalla, mutta ei myöskaan liioiksi vituta. Puolitoistatuntinen on juuri passeli näinkin monotoniselle mukanerokkaalle twistailulle."
