Conceptually, this is one of the freshest science fiction time travel films I have seen. Visually it was spectacular, but the acting fell far short with typical on-screen romancer Edward Burns at the helm and the rest of the supporting cast resting uncomfortably in his wings.
I thought it would be completely terrible but, even though it was average, there were a few good things. There were some elements of the story which actually quite interessant and a pretty good cast. I wouldn't recomment it but it was not a complete failure.
Description:Dr. Travis Ryer (Edward Burns) chases the ultimate thrill -- hunting dinosaurs -- by turning back the clock with the help of a time-travel outfitter run by Charles Hatton (Ben Kingsley). But after he unwittingly destroys a butterfly-like creature, Ryer's outing goes awry. Left stranded in a prehistoric past that promises to erase all Dr. Travis Ryer (Edward Burns) chases the ultimate thrill -- hunting dinosaurs -- by turning back the clock with the help of a time-travel outfitter run by Charles Hatton (Ben Kingsley). Left stranded in a prehistoric past that promises to erase all hopes of a future, can Ryer and his companions undo the damage they've unleashed? Or is the world doomed to end?... (more)(less)
"Reason for the future sucking:
Turns out going into the past, and stepping on something "by accident" or shooting shooting something, that you're not supposed "to shoot accidently on purpose", is not a good idea.
Stupid time traveling humans.
Year it takes place: Near futurish, populated by dino monsters.
And stupid time traveling humans.

"I don't know why I like this movie. Every time it is on Sci-Fi channel, I turn it on. It does have super dangerous monkey-lizards! Wikipedia

"Thankyou to igwanna for reminding me of this movie! Maybe its because of the other movies butterfly effect, That i forgot the name of this movie! as this story really did portray a story of what could happen if you went back to the age of the dinosaurs and tread onto a butterfly!
The movie does seem a little low budget but it still plays and interesting story."

"Oh crap, why do I insist on doing this to myself on a regular basis? To be fair, I appreciate Ray Bradbury as a writer, but the story presented here is mind-bogglingly flawed, full of holes the size of a crater - some of the "coincidences" and leaps in logic are so preposterous it makes you wonder if they did them on purpose. Not to mention the god-awful acting and the horrendous CGI. On some level, it was quite fun to watch (who could resist CGI-animated monkey-lizards!?), but apart from that, "
