"I've always liked Michael Caine (who doesn't?), but "Sleuth" brought me new levels of appreciation for him. Both him and Oliver are beyond phenomenal here.
Pfft, screw Marlon Brando in "The Godfather", Caine should have won an Oscar for this.

From the title I actually thought this was to be a standard "whodunit", but not only was it an entirely different film, what a film it was!
Michael Caine and Laurence Olivier where both excellent, their ability to carry the film along is nothing short of phenomenal.
With numerous twists that had me constantly guessing, "Sleuth" is a film I won't be forgetting any time soon."
"One thing that Sleuth really has going for it is the performances, especially that of Sir Laurence Olivier, who seems to be having so much fun as the eccentrically mad Andrew Wyke. My problems with the film fall more with the pacing. It is based on a stage play, and it feels it. Overlong scenes, as well as the plot itself, by nature, lead to a real lack of tension or suspense.
