An average movie

Honestly, it has been a while since I have seen this flick so maybe I should watch it again at some point to make up my mind for good about the damned thing. As far as I can remember, I think it must be the only science-fiction feature directed by Woody Allen. A clarinet player who also runs a health food store is frozen and brought back in the future by anti-government radicals in order to assist them in their attempts to overthrow an oppressive government. When he goes off on his own, he begins to explore this brave new world that has Orgasmatron booths to replace sex and confessional robots.

"March 22nd Directed by: Woody Allen A lot of the comedy was flat, and this felt even more self-indulgent than the average Woody Allen film."

“Honestly, it has been a while since I have seen this flick so maybe I should watch it again at some point to make up my mind for good about the damned thing. As far as I can remember, I think it must be the only science-fiction feature directed by Woody Allen. Of course, it is and remains a comedy but it was set in a futuristic world which was something quite unexpected from this director and this combination sounded really awesome. Unfortunately, even though I thought it was fairly amusing, I can't say I was really blown my away by the whole thing though. I don't know, maybe at the time, it was considered as really original but the whole concept of a guy who is cryogenically frozen in 1973 and defrosted 200 years later sounded rather weak and pedestrian to me, especially after watching ma” read more

My movie year 2012 (703 movies items)

Muutenkin leffa tuntuu ylipitkälle aiheen kuluessa loppuun varsin pian. Tehosteet o"

Science Fiction of the 70's! (50 movies items)

"Woody Allen's goofy vision of the future that makes fun of many other movies on this list. In it a nerdish store owner is revived out of cryostasis into a future world to fight an oppressive government. Hilarity ensues. I wonder if Woody the robot would be as neurotic as the man?"

Woody Allen: Best to worst (43 movies items)

"Luna Schlosser: Oh, I see. You don't believe in science, and you also don't believe that political systems work, and you don't believe in God, huh? Miles Monroe: Right. Luna Schlosser: So then, what do you believe in? Miles Monroe: Sex and death - two things that come once in a lifetime... but at least after death, you're not nauseous. Idiotic but still funny sci-fi comedy about future's dystopia. Keaton and Allen once again work great together. There isn't really much to say about this, jus"
