Even though the ratings were rather low, since there was a terrific cast (Nick Nolte, Jeff Bridges, Sharon Stone, Catherine Keener, Albert Finney), I was really eager to check this flick. “Even though the ratings were rather low, since there was a terrific cast (Nick Nolte, Jeff Bridges, Sharon Stone, Catherine Keener, Albert Finney), I was really eager to check this flick. It started out rather promising with a nice film noir mood and an impressive confrontation between Nolte and Bridges but, unfortunately, the whole thing didn't hold up, I'm afraid. Above all, I thought the story was really poorly written. I mean, Nick Nolte is a messed up guy looking for some kind of redemption, Jeff Bridges starts out as a ruthless businessman but suddenly has a melt-down and all his decisions become really hard to follow, Albert Finney doesn't have one single line of genuine dialog during the whole thing and speaks only in cryptic riddles, Sharon Stone plays an alcoholic, and Catherine” read more
