"Cecil B. Demille may not be a very respected director but I happen to like him for many reasons. One of them is the impressive camerawork in a number of his movies, of those I've seen especially on his early 30s films. This one has one especially impressive moment, in which the camera first lowers down to ground and then floats through a window with metal bars. And being a very big budget movie, the sets are amazing. The film itself is just awesomely campy pre-code religious fluff.
