Predictable, but this action movie kept my attention throughout.

Full of action, stuff blowing up, lots of shooting, Shooter is a decent movie, with decent acting, a decent story, and is watchable (unlike some other action movies). Mark Wahlberg does a good job in this movie. Danny Glover - why do they keep dragging him out? His role could have been played by anyone, and probably much better.

Sorry, I respectfully disagree with all previous reviews. This movie was utter and complete crap. It looked promising at the beginning, but quickly turned into a pure Hollywood predictable mess full of plot holes and 'wtf??' moments. The script is what killed it for me. It's like someone was told "make a movie, lots of action, and make sure to include the following; sexy girls, lots of big guns, hunting with your dog, wilderness survival, make explosives out of hardware store items, at least two 'save your buddy' moments, one that ended badly and one where you redeem yourself, shady conspiracy people in black SUVs, car chases, car crashes, and also make sure those same sexy girls get to use the guns too". After his unit leaves him and his best friend Donnie, to die in Ethiopia, former military sniper Bob Lee Swagger (Mark Wahlberg) goes in exile in the Rockies. Three years later, he gets coaxed back into action by Colonel Isaac Johnson (Danny Glover) who requests that he finds a way to plan the President's assassination in one of three cities. In the end, Bob Lee is double-crossed and framed for the attempt. Soon he becomes a fugitive trying to prove his innocence. Unfortunately this movie failed to hold my attention. Although plot felt good and complete, it wasn't gripping.

It feels almost like the movie has been done before, and in a way it has. This style is just very popular right; highly trained individual, who is betrayed by the government, and somehow is able to take down countless numbers with ease.

Three years ago this might have felt fresh but now it's seems a tired format.
