In spite of the terrible reviews, since I'm a huge fan of Sean Penn, I still wanted to see this flick. Eventually, the end results was indeed pretty bad. Where should I start? The music is way too cheesy (Sorry, George Harrison!), the whole story is just a mess and the directing is very average. “In spite of the terrible reviews, since I'm a huge fan of Sean Penn, I still wanted to see this flick. Eventually, the end results was indeed pretty bad. Where should I start? The music is way too cheesy (Sorry, George Harrison!), the whole story is just a mess and the directing is very average. I thought that Sean Penn was not too bad (I don't think he is capable of providing a bad performance) but Madonna's performance was pretty horrendous. Above all, she was completely miscast and completely unbelievable in this part. The funny thing is that it could have been pretty good and I really liked the material. They could have made a nice exotic film noir but instead, they chose to give every 5 minutes some very lame joke and they completely missed the right tone for this material. To conclud” read more
