Seven (Se7en) (1995)

This movie is a classic and I constantly recommend it to people. A fantastically interesting crime movie following two detectives as they try to track and catch a serial killer. The quirk is that this killer chooses his victims based upon the seven deadly sins - Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Lust, Pride, Envy, and Wrath.

Its difficult to describe why I love this movie. Its just so engaging and interesting, I've yet to meet anyone who isn't interested in watching it to its end. Indeed, whenever its on TV I feel compelled to watch it (despite having seen in dozens of times and owning the DVD). One of the absolute best in the "detectives track serial killer" genre (up there with Silence of the Lambs!). A real must-see with a killer ending (no, that's not a pun).

Brad Pitt: Detective David Mills Se7en obviously is a very complex and deep movie, while also being quite disturbing. Andrew Kevin Walker created one of the most original spec screenplays of all time, but it is the kind of story traditionally used more as a writing sample than actually made into a movie. But the creative team of director David Fincher believed in this extremely dark, uncompromising story, and made it just the way Walker wrote it. Brad Pitt and Morgan Freedman played their roles to the T. I loved this film. The story line kept me interested, great film to the end.

One of the most gritty and disturbing plots of our time. The nameless, rain-lashed city it a perfect setting for each of the grizzly murders. The killings become more and more inspired as the film progresses, but to this day the lust murder sends a shiver down my spine! I think it's a great cast too, this is probably the point where I really started to like Brad Pitt and Kevin Spacey, and one of the few films where I think Morgan Freeman actually hits his potential.
