"Serpico paints a well-conceived portrait of the real story of a newly-inducted cop who slowly becomes disillusioned by the expectations thrusted upon him. The first third was an excellent introduction of the case at hand, giving viewers a fine showcas of our titular character. After this point, however, the quality does wane a bit; I personally found it a bit anticlimactic.
