1 vote This film is definitely one of my favourite war films. This is thanks, in part, to its brutal realism, particularly from the opening scenes. The first time I watched the assault on Normandy beach I was close to vomiting. The violence is horrendous, but what makes it so difficult to watch is the fact that it is the reenactment of a true event. This isn't a laughable gore-fest cooked up in the mind ... read more
