His efforts to secure her an abortion when he gets her pregnant stem not out of concern for her but out of his own selfishness: why should he be tied down with a squalling brat? "A still of Albert Finney from this film was almost used for the artwork of the "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now" single but Finney refused. When he changed his mind, the still was to be used for a Rough Trade re-release of the "This Charming Man" single on compact disc, but this never happened.
