An amalgamation of the Bourne series, the Bond series and the Mission: Impossible films, 2010's Salt is exactly the type of action-thriller you'd expect to witness during summertime - it's loaded with clichéd characters, a patently silly story, and lots of ridiculous action set-pieces which defy all known limitations of physics and pain tolerance. The final 10 minutes of SALT accomplish one heck of an amazing feat: they manage to be muddled, anticlimactic and (worst of all) sequel-begging, all at the same time. I was utterly shocked by how this largely entertaining action flick literally deflated before my eyes during its coda. This is almost like Mr and Mrs Smith Part 2, minus Mr Smith (although an inclusion of Brad Pitt is very much welcome). I don't think anyone else can carry out Salt role as perfect as Angelina Jolie. She is a nail on for the tough lady act.

" The Ups: Phillip Noyce can do acceptable action thrillers. A man always like babes who kick ass. The Downs: Angelina Jolie still look more like a fashion icon than an believable action actress. Why waste her talents on this? Liev Schreiber takes the money and does another of his typhical routines. No control over the production as there exists 3 different "do it yourself" versions available on the Blu-Ray I own."
