The Maysles brothers are masters of cinema verite, and arguably it's originators in modern cinema as well. Salesman, a documentary about bible salesmen, doesn't fit their usual MO though. Much of the film is just salesmen talking crap about the weather or what not, and it seems like it was a struggle to put together a feature film from the material the brothers had amassed during shooting. Elokuvan jaaritteluun pohjautuva eteneminen, huono ääniraita ja puuttuva mahdollisuus tekstitykseen (enkkutekstit olisi ilmeisesti kuitenkin jostain salanapista esille saanut...) vaikeuttavat katselua kohdallani entisestään (onneksi läppärin avulla leffaa voi seurata vaikkapa parranajon ohessa).
