As you might know by now I'm a sucker for Father-Son tearjerkers. However this film managed to delver more then the typical Hollywood superficial film. Granted it helps that this is based on a true story.
This film has more in common with "Nowhere in Africa" (2001) or "The Return" (2003). How or why the film has received little recognition beyond Australia is something of a mystery to me. Especially since it stars two of my favorite actors Eric Bana and Franka Potente.
