" Por que ver: Por trás de uma equação óbvia (o elemento robô no tema guerra de gangues, recorrente nos anos 80), há um subtexto bem menos simplista que é a crítica à política neoliberal dos anos 80."

My Favourite MANLY Movies! (40 movies items)

"HOW IS IT MANLY? Jesus, Mary, Joseph, RoboCop fucking rules. I mean don't even try to deny it... This is one fucking awesome motion picture from top to bottom. The '80s was a time of veritable one-man armies such as Schwarzenegger and Stallone. Problem with most of those movies is that it's unlikely the protagonist would be so unscathed after encountering fuck loads of guys. RoboCop is another one-man army film, but with a twist: the one-man army is a virtually indestructible machine. Cue amaz"

Tin man! Solid gold!

“''Nice shooting, son. What's your name?''

''Murphy.''

In a dystopic & crime ridden Detroit, a terminally wounded cop returns to the force as a powerful cyborg with submerged memories haunting him.

Simply an awesome action flick!

“Bob Morton: "What are your Prime Directives?"

Surprisingly gory

“I saw this movie around 18 years ago and then again, just recently. It's aged surprisingly well, despite the clunky, stop frame robot animation. The plot is pretty good, there's plenty of blood and gore (including a guy with his skin melting off his body) and crucially, not too much reliance on CG effects. I did not remember all the blood and gore. This movie is definitely not for kids younger than 13.” read more
