Phillydude's Movie Log - January, 2012 (36 movies items)" Watched January 19th - Redbox DVD - Rewatch "Caesar Is home" - Caesar The second half of tonight's Redbox double feature - this time instead of Cowboys vs Aliens, it is Humans vs. Apes - I had my doubts about Rise of The Planet Of The Apes because I hated the remake of the original movie, and I thought this was going to be more of the same. However, when I saw it in the theater last Summer, I loved it and I loved it just as much watching it again. The story is excellent - The bond of friends"
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
“San Francisco.Today.The man experimenting on animals resylting to a new kind of sophisticated monkey.Soon a world war breaks out for domination on the planet.
This movie was a big surpise for me.Even the script is not something special, the direction proved highly effectively.Less allegorical than what his predecessors were, but honest and persative for a blockbuster movie,Rubert Wyatt invests in other things to gain the confidence of the viewer without attempting to make the difference. He creates moments of big emotional tension, and his comment about the brute human nature is apt.The way that presents to us the adventures of the Monkey-protagonist Caesar is very sensitive and caring.
But the movie has and a serous problem. The first one hour film flows perfectly in the d” read more
Marvellous resurrection of an ailing saga
“"Careful, humans don't like smart ape."
After six feature films (including a remake) and two TV shows, a prequel exploring the apes' rise to global dominance seems to be the only avenue left to tackle in the exhausted Planet of the Apes franchise. Borrowing bits and pieces from earlier films (most notably Conquest of the Planet of the Apes), 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes starts from scratch, rebooting the tired saga and asking that we forget all the prior Apes pictures. This is a fresh, baggage-free outing which disposes of the franchise's pre-existing timeline to resurrect the Apes brand and pave the way for a whole new series. Surprisingly, the gamble has paid off. Directed by Rupert Wyatt, Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a rare type of summer blockbuster which is mor” read more
Movie Diary 2012 (108 movies items)"The first one hour film flows perfectly in the development of characters and generally feels like a serious movie, but the remaining half hour movie essentially committed suicide after starts the classic Hollywood stuff.Destruction, explosions and generally an uncontrolled situation with unnecessary action. Giganttisesti metsään rysäyttäneen Tim Burton -rebootin jälkeen näytti siltä, että Fox haluaa epätoivoisesti sylkeä Apinoiden planeetta -elokuvia pihalle niin kauan, että jokin niistä ottaa tulta alleen. Jos Apes-leffoja pitää sitten väkisin sulloa valkokankaille, toivotaan että tämä reboot tarjoaa pohjakaavan. Leffa alkaa todella kuluneena "tiede tuo tu"

January Movie Journal - Xanadon't (35 movies items)" Redbox Rental Every plot-point of the film was telegraphed from miles away, and the characters are poorly written with very little development. It's a good thing most of the visuals were excellent, because this movie didn't have anything else going for it. In many ways this felt like Splice all over again. "
Movie journal - January 2012 (21 movies items)"Date: 7. January *first time watch* I had very low expectations, since I thought it looked a little bit silly from all the advertising, but I was completely blown away by it! The cast was great, especially John Lithgow and Brian Cox, whom both are some of my favorite actors. "
Watched In 2012 (Michael M) (330 movies items)" 5/1/12 I initially didn't have any interest in this film, presuming it would be some CGI blockbuster schlock, but after hearing many good things about it, I give it a shot. My original assumptions couldn't have been more wrong. The relationship between James Franco's character and Caesar gave the movie a great emotional edge, while the film also proved to be an example of CGI used in an effective way."
