In a nutshell, 2013's R.I.P.D. is two parts Men in Black and one part Ghostbusters, bringing about a summertime blockbuster that's entertaining but astonishingly unoriginal. Adapted from the Dark Horse comic o... read more

Very WELL DONE - Great entertainment; and looking forward to a sequel (or two). YES, it reminded me of MIB but, so what - I'd go see another 'sequel' of theirs too ! - jts

An average movie

“Obviously, like anyone else, I heard only bad things about this movie but since I have a weak spot for Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, eventually, it turned out to be indeed pretty lame. Basically, it was some kind of seriously misguided mix between 'Men In Black', 'Ghostbusters', even with a dash of 'Ghost'. So, it felt really derivative and, right from the start, the whole concept was just seriously boring. For Ryan Reynolds, it was yet already his 4th comic-book adaptation which turned out to be either a commercial and/or a critical flop (see also 'Blade: Trinity', 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine', and 'Green Lantern') and he even made a 5th movie in this genre but, fortunately for him, 'Deadpool'  was a huge hit (he also said he would never pla” read more
