Not Impressed.

I am personally a huge "Rambo" fan. I loved first blood 1, and first blood 2. The most recent installment was also great. When I think back on those, then compare it with this, I don't think of this as an actual Rambo flick. I was extremely disappointed after and during this movie. I have heard people say "What's so bad about this movie?, it's just great action" those people couldn't be anymore incorrect. There isn't much action until towards the end of the film, and the rest is just him meeting up with people and what not, and gathering up information to plan a rescue mission. The plot in this one is very down to earth, dull, and probably should have been expanded on. John Rambo must save Colonel Trautman after he is captured by Russian forces. In my opinion, the story wasn't reall...Read more

Awful film to a good franchise.

"You do not look like men Griggs sent before. You not look like you are with military." Directed by: Peter MacDonald Starring: Sylvester Stallone, Richard Crenna, Marc De Jonge, Kurtwood Smith, Spiros Focás Genre: Action/Adventure/Thriller Running time: 97 minutes My review:Rambo's Vietnam commanding officer Colonel Trautman is held hostage in Afghanistan, and its up to Rambo to rescue him. I have to say that this film was a real disappointment to the Rambo series because it didn't focus on the outline of the story. It was more focused on the action. I know Rambo is like that but it should at least have a decent story. It is very similar to a plot form a film that is like a kidnap-hostage sort of story. In my opinion that is what was so bad about this one. To me,...Read more

Helping the enemies of tomorrow...

''Who are you?'' ''Your worst nightmare!'' Rambo's Vietnam commanding officer Colonel Trautman is held hostage in Afghanistan, and its up to Rambo to rescue him. Sylvester Stallone: Rambo Richard Crenna: Trautman Well Rambo 3 the third in the original trilogy, not including the latest one, is a classic example of what happens when a formula starts to flag and lose it's spark. The premise being his friend Colonel Trautman asks for his help, in typical Rambo style he refuses and then he gets kidnapped firing Rambo into action to save his friend from psychopathic Communist Soviets. He makes allies with the Afghans who are being slaughtered by the Russians. Hang on don't these people become terrorists I hear everyone thinking. It's ok the movie will get better, I'...Read more

Action, blood, violence - so see it!

"God would have mercy. He won't." With Stallone endlessly reeling out follow-ups to both Rocky and First Blood there is little wonder why he got type-cast, and why interest in both series kept dropping. Personally I find the products of Stallone's sequels aren't as dreadful as the critics seemed to think. Each new Rambo movie is another great addition to the action genre. Rambo III doesn't deserve all the pasting it received (even by Stallone himself during a recent interview). This film is meant to be part of the action genre. With this objective in mind it succeeds spectacularly. From top to bottom the film is nothing but badass action, explosions and lots of killing. If you want a good action movie, Rambo III definitely delivers. In this instalment we find the classic trouble...Read more

In a break from the Rambo tradition, this film is set in a desert instead of the jungle. Amazingly, during the 80s the yanks hated the Russian's more than the Afghans, so here Rambo liases with Afghan rebels to attack the evil soviet invaders.

This time John Rambo takes on the entire soviet army using only the help of him former army colonel, his knife and a bit of a trench. There is nothing John Rambo can't do. The end of this film sees Rambo drive a tank into an airborne helicopter. Don't miss out, see this whatever the cost.
