Filmsite's Greatest Chase Scenes in Film History (83 movies items)

"The most classic of the chase scenes was a desert chase scene in which Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) raced after a speeding truck by mounting a horse and overtaking the vehicle. He leapt onto the vehicle, forced his way into the cab, tossed the guard from the passenger seat, kicked out the Nazi driver onto the road, and took control of the wheel. As he drove, there were some hair-raising attempts of Nazi guards in the back of his truck to oust Indy from the wheel. He was weakened when one guard "

Film Journal 2013 (335 movies items)

"14/8 It's Indiana Jones, you know it. I think this is maybe my least favorite. This was the first time I've seen it in over ten years and even as a kid I never had a connection with it unlike the second one. The third one just the best because hey, it's so funny and insane on many levels. But here we have John-Rhys Davies as a good poor man's Bud Spencer and a great nazi villain. Too bad it feels a bit long for it's own good because all scenes not involving our not-bean-eating bearded sidekick "

Filmsite's 100 Greatest Film Scenes (102 movies items)

"A spectacular, cliff-hanger, breathlessly-paced, non-stop action/adventure film of the early 1980s that was an immensely successful summer box-office hit that mimicked the great 1930's adventure serials. The opening sequence which begins under the credits is a hang-on-to-your-seats experience. In 1936, American expedition leader Dr. Indiana "Indy" Jones (Harrison Ford), sporting his signature short, brown leather flight jacket, a brimmed felt fedora, and a bullwhip firmly in his hand is in a So"

Portlander's Movie Log - July, 2013 (35 movies items)

" Watched July 31st - 1:00PM - Pub Theater - Rewatch "You want to talk to God? - let's go see Him together, I've got nothing better to do." - Indiana Jones One of the nice things about my move to Portland is that there are a number of theaters that show second run and classic flashback movies - and being pub theaters I can enjoy a hamburger and tater tots for lunch while I am watching the show - my first visit to a pub theater was to see Raiders of the Lost Ark - I saw it on the big screen whe"

Total Film's 80 Greatest 1980s' Movie Moments (80 movies items)

"The Moment: An assassin with sharp moves and a fearsome blade stands in Indy’s path. He hasn’t got the time for a fight…so he simply shoots him. Only In The '80s: ...could the star catch dysentry, bugger up a big action set-piece and still get the biggest laugh in the film. If It Was Made Today: Five-minute swordfight with bad CGI."

Greatest Unscripted Film Scenes (30 movies items)

"Gun Vs. Sword The original script called for a long sword fight but a day earlier Ford got a severe case of food poisoning and didn't have the energy to film the scene as written. After a discussion with director Steven Spielberg, the scene was changed and became an iconic part of Indiana Jones mythos."

thescriptlab's 10 Great Film Exposition Scenes (10 movies items)

" The Scene: Indy (Harrison Ford) and colleague Marcus Brody decipher a Nazi communique message for two U.S. Army officers. The Exposition: Indy and Brody explain that the Nazi's have discovered Tanis, an ancient city and possible burial site of the Ark of the Covenant, which holds epic mystical power. The Summary: Even though the scene is five minutes long, it never feels forced or labored because we get all the critical information that sets up the entire story by using characters that are au"

"#1. While chasing Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) after she's been kidnapped, archaeologist and adventurer Dr. Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) runs into a large sword-wielding bad guy dressed all in black. Instead of fighting him in what would surely be a losing whip versus sword battle, Indy simply pulls out his revolver, puts the man down with one shot and moves on. The original script called for a long sword fight but a day earlier Ford got a severe case of food poisoning and didn't have the en"

"Being shot... NOT! I remember seeing a bit of this anonymous TV show back in the day where a guy showed up in another guy's front yard pointing a gun at him. It was a suspenseful moment: "How's he gonna get out of this??" BANG!BANG! Shots were fired but how on Earth was the main guy still standing? Well, there was a third person involved that we never saw until now who came in to rescue the main guy. I thought that was so cool back then, but it was only because I hadn't seen any movies or T"
