"If you're not committing sin... you're not having fun."
The last time that former visual effects technician Scott Charles Stewart directed Paul Bettany in a motion picture, the result was 2010's quite literally God-awful Legion. Loosely based on the South Korean comic series of the same name, 2011's Priest is an improvement over Legion...but not by much. As befitting of a former ef... read more
The idea was good, the visuals extensive, and the storyline fair. What I didn't like was the way it seemed fake; this was probably due to poor directing. I'm not a great fan of Scot Stewart and this is why. It could have been so much better.

Note : Indeed, the whole thing was pretty lame. Basically, it is a very weak mix of various genres from the vampire stuff, to SF, with Western influences, some religion and there is even room for some Mad Max chases. Obviously, especially considering the short running time (not even 80 minutes), it was just way too much too handle and the whole thing was just really underwhelming. “Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from this flick but since Nick, my step-son, is a huge fan of vampire movies (good or bad, it doesn't really matter to him...), I thought I should check it out with him. "One of two films on this list by Paul Bettany and they are both friggin' great!!! This one was downright amazing! If they don't make a sequel for this they're idiots. "
"Simply put, I did like this film. It had a certain...charm to it. Sure, the film could have went without (now standard clichés) 3D and the "stop and start" action sequences, but this wasn't the worst way to spend two hours. Joanna Hex could have been playing instead. So I consider myself very fortunate."

"The newest movie on my list but one of the best. Paul Bettany can do no wrong in my book. The dude is just cool. Maggie Q also starred and more than carried her weight as a strong and sexy female co-star.
A sweet premise for a movie and it was left open for a sequel...
Bettany's priest character (enforcer/slayer types who hunted and killed vampires) leaves the cloistered city against edict to hunt down vamps that have kidnapped his niece. Never mind that the powers that be would have the popul"

Note: I never saw the movie and I don't plan to anytime soon. The trailers for the movie look generic and boring. The movie was based on some comic book and 90% of comic book movies in the past 20 years try to start a movie franchise. It looks like Priest didn't made enough money to start a franchise. "
