"Fun exploitative grindhouse flick. It has your typical formulaic slasher plot - people are getting murdered, the killer needs to be stopped - but with plenty of surprises along the way. Its charm truly lies within its blatant low-budget aesthetics, and there's enough bad dubbing and acting to be expected. However, it has a good amount of unpredictability to make it a fun, perhaps even unintentionally hilarious, affair. This would be an excellent candidate for an entertaining midnight movie.

I've heard about Pieces for a long time now, so when I saw that Alamo Drafthouse was screening it in 35mm (and for a measly $3 no less) I decided I should go. And I'm so glad I did. Ridiculous, over the top, and frequently random only begin to describe this slasher film. After a while the dialogue made me feel like someone had a drunken bet to get some of the lines worked into the film & delivered with a straight face.
