" The Ups: It is an impressive debut filmed in glorious 16mm black and white photography with hypnotic electronica music that draws one in. Excellent frenetic editing and use of camera. Gripping story about a man's decent into mathematical madness, even someone who hate maths can love this film. Excellent comments about religion and nature itself and about finding order in chaos. I like Darren Aronofsky a lot, but i had never seen this film before now so when i saw it was on Netflix i decided to give it a go. I liked it. It was not among his best work, but still pretty good. The story was very interesting and i thought the acting was fine for a low budget movie with no known actors in it. I didn't really get the ending though. It confused me a little bit. "
