The ad campaign for PAUL has wittily informed us that this film was directed by "the earthling who brought you SUPERBAD," Greg Mottola. Good, cinematic entertainment? You can count on it. A good, fresh comedy? Far from it. Paul is full of forced jokes, based on unnecessary vulgar language and ridiculous, hasty set ups. On top of this, the visual gags are pointed out by the characters because they assume the audiences are too stupid to pick up on it themselves. "09.02.2013 "Whats the matter Clive?" "There is an alien in the kitchen making bagels and coffee." "Did you want tea?" While not as funny as Shun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz, i still really like this movie. It is missing that Edgar Wright tough to become as classic as those two though. "February 7 "They're going to rape us and break our arms!" "I don't want my arms broken." This was pretty funny. I think the reason some people didn't like it is because they weren't expecting an American comedy from Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, but they actually tackle it very well. This movie may have some flaws and the time length might bother some people but it had enough laughs to make this movie not feel like a chore to watch."

"Komedia sankarit Nick Frost ja Simon Pegg ovat yleensä tehneet tuhoisaa jälkeä, mutta tämä ei ollut läheskään yhtä hauska mitä oletin. Suurin pettymys oli itse Paul, joka oli Alieniksi/avaruusoliohahmoksi hieman tylsä/mauton. Loppua kohden kuitenkin hieman parani, mutta olisi näillä eväillä tästä filmistä saatu tehtyä paljon parempikin."
