Tom Clancy's CIA hero, Jack Ryan, is in England on vacation with his wife and daughter, but his CIA instincts kick in when a situation develops, and Jack, acting quickly, helps foil an assassination plot by a militant IRA faction on a British royal family member. The confrontation makes Jack a hero, but also leave's the assassin's brother dead. The plot turns into high gear as the IRA assassin gets broken out of prison and has plans to go to America to bring vengeance to Jack's family.
