"Directed by Jean Renoir Often hailed as a short Renoir 'masterpiece', I decided to check this film out solely on reputation alone. It's not very long, and that was due to the fact that the movie went unfinished due to the complications at the time concerning difficult weather conditions (which are actually seen in the film and in my opinion one of the movie's main 'highlights') and the on-set of WWII, the film was considered lost for some time until ten years later, French producer Pierre Braun"
