"A powerful look into African-American lesbian Alike, you has to deal with her disapproving mother while finding herself and exploring her sexuality. Virtual unknown Adepero Udoye rocks this role, playing a very likable character, and she is backed by a strong supporting cast. Food for thought.

Ah, and of course thanks to lotr23 and Xanadon't for watching the film before me.
I really liked this film and it has just enough grit to thankfully not feel like another 'fluff' piece and not overly gritty giving it an exploitation feel. So, just the right mix of tenderness and heartache."
"
Intensely personal without ever feeling self-consumed. A remarkable debut effort that handles moments of gritty reality with grace, dignity, and an authentic feel. Pariah deserves a much wider audience than it's ever likely to get.
*Don't think it's ever happened before, but I'm the first person on listal to watch/rate this movie! And la-dee-da, yes, I do feel special."
