Fantastic movie with amazing music and incredible visuals. The story is interesting enough and the characters are pretty well flushed out... until the end. The end is a huge letdown.

Mack's Movies 2013: April (19 movies items)

" April 27th: Online streaming, computer Overall opinion: Awesome! Paprika was great. I would recommend this to anyone who likes animation; it's not aimed at kids which lets it get a little weird and it's got a great great great story (though it will seem familiar, remember this came out before Inception) and it's visually stunning to a wonderful degree. I was so impressed, I watched it two more times after my first viewing. Lots of fun! It is just weird and surreal enough to feel like an act"

Movie Diary 2013: January (17 movies items)

"January 30th Creepy..Yet fairly entertaining. I'm quite a fan of Japanese anime movies, like Studio Ghibli etc. But this was very different not like a Ghibli Movie, it was very weird, one of them delusional films. I personally don't think everyone will enjoy this movie, as it's very very different and as it's a borderline mind game movie, some people might just think of it as plain stupid. I quite like it, in my words, a pretty watchable movie, and I would defiantly recommend it to Japanese an"

Non-Disney, Non-Pixar, Non-Ghibli Animated Films (79 movies items)

"Satoshi Kon's final film before his untimely death is a mixed bag which reportedly inspired Chris Nolan's 'Inception'. The story of a research psychologist who develops a device to enter patients' dreams, 'Paprika' has a confusing plot jammed with ideas. Some would say there is too much going on but through sheer relentlessness 'Paprika' achieves a wonderful sort of dreamlike logic of its own. The colourful, busy images we are presented with are so beautifully rendered that often the viewer d"

"Satoshi Kon's unbridled imagination runs wild in Paprika, a film that attempts - with brilliance - to capture the sheer absurdity of dreams. Though it takes a while to pick up, and becomes a bit of a mess by the final third, its premise is fresh, exceedingly clever, and very surreal. "
