What is better than a Western starring Clint Eastwood? A Western starring and directed by Clint Eastwood! Honestly, it is not the best Western he directed ('Unforgiven' remains easily his best) but it was still really enjoyable. You have all the standard elements : the farmer whose familly has been raped and murdered and becomes a ruthless killer, the Civil war, Indians, Bounty hunters,... Clint E... read more
Theres nothing like a western starring Clint Eastwood, and this is one of the best, doesn't quite match the Dollars trilogy but its still a great film. He even directed this himself. He plays his classic ass kicking role, with anyone he doesn't like tasting a round from either; one of his pistols or his rifle. In this film in particular, its the Union soldiors who butchered his family he's aiming ... read more
"Bounty hunter #1: You're wanted, Wales.
Josey Wales: Reckon I'm right popular. You a bounty hunter?
Bounty hunter #1: A man's got to do something for a living these days.
Josey Wales: Dyin' ain't much of a living, boy.

I'll be quite honest. I do not gravitate toward Westerns. In fact, I was a bit bummed that this earned the most votes in the list described above because there's a reason I've been putting it off. The funny thing is, for the most part I've enjoyed the Western films I have seen (though I don't think as much of the Dollars Trilogy as most, or anything Sergio Leone for that matter), and yet I generally go into them as something of a chore. But the people have spoken, and I thought better than to"
"Clint Eastwood really makes for a great outlaw, he plays the notorious outlaw Josey Wales in this film which was one of the first few films he directed.
"Yeah, well, I always heard there were three kinds of suns in Kansas, sunshine, sunflowers, and sons-of-bitches."
He's out for revenge against the people who murdered his family and left him for dead, he will stop at nothing until he gets his payback. He picks up a few companions along his journey, including; Chief Dan George as Lone Watie; "

In this film in particular, its the Union soldiors who butchered his family he's aiming at, and a few bounty hunters that try to claim the price on his head, but none can match the gunslinging of Josey Wales. Josey picks up a few allies during the story, my favourite being a bad ass old Indian guy. My favourite moment has to be the gun fight at the end, Joey Wales on horseback and a fortified hut full of people pissed off with the Union, against a squad of Union soldiors...” read more

Eastwoodin päästä on luvattu mittava palkkio. Eastwood tappaa jokaisen perään lähteneen palkkionmetsästäjän, koska palkkiot ovat pelkkää pask"
