Ocean's Prelude

This may have been George Clooney's audition tape to the Ocean's Eleven series, similar character development and interaction with the leading lady, yes, definitely a nice prelude to Daniel Ocean. Overall, a good movie and I barely noticed the acting "talent" that is J.Lo.

Not too bad, I was just expecting it to be a little better. George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez had better chemistry than I would have expected, but that doesn't make the overall movie worth more than 3 stars.

George Clooney is Jack Foley, the most successful bank robber in the country. On the day he busts out of jail, he meets Karen Sisco, and easily falls for her. Unfortunately for ... read more

"It's like seeing someone for the first time, and you look at each other for a few seconds, and there's this kind of recognition like you both know something. Next moment the person's gone, and it's too late to do anything about it."

After spending the decade of the 1990s in the shadows and remaining overlooked, Steven Soderbergh made his mark in Hollywood with Out of Sight: this su... read more

" I usually hate sex scenes in movies because I think they're boring and would rather watch people exchanging smart dialogue. The sex scene in this movie is so creatively edited and the people in it have such good chemistry that it's my favourite of all time. The chemistry in this movie is a rare thing these days. It reminds me of the kind that used to happen in Golden Age of Hollywood pictures. I also love this movie for combining the creative forces behind "Traffic" and "Get Shorty" beautifull"

A good movie

“George Clooney is what you could call a late-bloomer. Indeed, even though he is nowadays one of the biggest movie stars in the world, he was already in his 30’s when he got his breakthrough with ‘E.R.’ Then, pretty much like his best buddy Brad Pitt, even though he moved on pretty quickly to the silver screen, it took him some time to find his game and I think the ball really started to roll with him with this movie. Indeed, it was the start of a steady relationship between Clooney and Soderbergh and they would eventually make 5 more movies together (the Ocean trilogy, the ‘Solaris’ remake and ‘The Good German ‘). For George Clooney, it was the first time he was able to show his eternal charisma in a rather smart movie and he never looked back ever since. For Soderbergh, it ” read more

"This has got everything you want in a classy movie. It's sexy, stylish, funny, intelligent, tightly written, entertaining, great acting, brilliant directing by Steven Soderbergh. The sexual tension between Jennifer Lopez and George Clooney was the best onscreen in a long time. A wonderful movie which I really enjoyed. "

“For me out of sight was out of sight, it is not the best movie, and I really don't get the hype. Don't get me wrong the movie is not that bad you can't watch it, but the acting from some of the actors was not the best. Maybe that is what let it down for me, Jennifer Lopez get's the best role of her life, and does nothing with it. George Clooney I have to say did a good job, and he is what got me through it. Overall the story is not bad, but like I said some of the acting was which does let a movie down.” read more

"First viewing - Feb. 25th/26th It's no Jackie Brown, but this Elmore Leonard adaptation is solidly entertaining. I'm not a fan of Jennifer Lopez, but I thought she did a decent job here & the rest of the cast is solid too. I liked the story & the way it played out, and it was amusing to see Michael Keaton briefly reprise his role from Jackie Brown. I didn't care much for some of the stylistic flourishes though (the freeze frame transitions didn't work for me at all), and I can't say I was espec"

"January 31 "Hey bank robber! Hey, want some advice? Next time keep the engine running." This was just OK. I was actually expecting it to be a serious thriller, but it wasn't really like that until the end. The acting was good and Don Cheadle managed to steal the show, but I wasn't impressed with the script. Also for a film that is tagged as a comedy I didn't really think it was that funny. It is a well-made movie, but I wasn't into the story that much."
