Everything seemed ugly in Buñuel's masterpiece of social disintegration and anarchy. Here are characters you just love to hate, nasty kids you feel no guilt of smacking around, a place you'd want to tore down and rather build a shopping mall over, but still would leave perfectly in its place. The young and the damned exist and Buñuel preserved them in this movie.

A group of juvenile delinquents live a violent and crime-filled life in the festering slums of Mexico City, and the morals of young Pedro are gradually corrupted and destroyed by the others
