this movie that i have seen 10-15 times and the close to the well it is funny and stupid movie. LOL!!

If there was a word to describe the theatre of the absurd as a film genre, then O Brother, Where Art Thou? is a film that wears that genre with confidence. The film is peculiar and unique; but at the same time a film that I enjoyed to a great degree. O Brother, Where Art Thou? is basically a successful attempt by the Coen Brothers to resettle the story of Homer's epic poem 'The Odyssey' into 1930s American society. The film begins with Ulysses Everett McGill (Clooney), Pete Hogwallop (Turturro), and Delmar O'Donnel (Nelson) escaping from a chain gang that is situated out in the middle of nowhere. I know I am in the minority on this one but I didn't really enjoy this film. I thought it was decent, it made me laugh a few times, but overall I was a little disappointed. Could be my sense of humor doesn't match up, could be I went in with my expectations too high, just didn't do it for me.

I do have to say however, the music was amazing. Potentially worth it for price of admission alone.

I love this film. I think I'd love it even if I wasn't already a fan of roots music, but the soundtrack certainly doesn't hurt.
