Now You See Me is a summer film that builds up suspense with grand illusions and some fun trickery, but perhaps making the big twist a little more unpredictable would have been much more suspenseful and fulfilling.

Description:The Four Horsemen, a magic super-group led by the charismatic ATLAS (Jesse Eisenberg), perform a pair of high-tech magic shows, first astonishing audiences by robbing a bank on another continent, and then exposing a white-collar criminal and funneling his millions into the audience members’ bank accounts.
FBI Special Agent DYLAN The Four Horsemen, a magic super-group led by the charismatic ATLAS (Jesse Eisenberg), perform a pair of high-tech magic shows, first astonishing audiences by robbing a bank on another continent, and then exposing a white-collar criminal and funneling his millions into the audience members’ bank accounts.
FBI Special Agent DYLAN (Mark Ruffalo) is determined to make the magicians pay for their crimes—and to stop them before they pull off what promises to be an even more audacious heist. But he’s forced to partner with ALMA (Melanie Laurent), an Interpol detective about whom he is instantly suspicious. Out of desperation he turns to THADDEUS (Morgan Freeman), a famed magic debunker, who claims the bank heist was accomplished using disguises and video trickery. One thing Dylan and Alma agree on is that the Horsemen must have an outside point person, and that finding him (or her) is key to ending the magicians’ crime spree. Could it be Thaddeus? Or Alma? Or could it really be…magic?
As pressure mounts and the world awaits the Horsemen’s spectacular final trick, Dylan and Alma race to find an answer. But it soon becomes painfully clear that staying one step ahead of these masters of illusion is beyond the skills of any one man—or woman.... (more)(less)

You go into a movie like Now You See Me expecting preposterous things to happen and hoping that you'll at least be able to have a fun Saturday afternoon with those preposterous things. "You have, what we like to call in the business, nothing up your sleeve - because if you did, it means that you and the FBI and your friends at Interpol actually believe in magic."

I am normally not a fan of magicians and magic tricks, so normally this type of movie might not have interested me - but the trailer for Now You See Me looked so good, and it had such a great cast that I wanted to check it out, but in the en"

"This was a very cool movie. The visuals were good, the story was good and there is good performances from the cast members. While watching this movie I couldn't help but think of it as Ocean's 11 except with magic. I think that's a good thing in this case because I thought it was more entertaining than the other movie and I thought it was a bit more wittier. I'm glad this movie was just as good as I anticipated."

"Critics: 49%
Audiences: 74%
Consensus: Now You See Me's thinly sketched characters and scattered plot rely on directorial sleight of hand to distract audiences -- and director Louis Leterrier lacks sufficient cinematic prestidigitation to pull it off in the final act."
