In the 60's, Antonioni was a major movie director and La Notte was one of his masterpieces. Moreau and Mastroianni both shine here with great perfomances. A very deep movie which doesn't deal with chases, shootings, explosions and special effects but with relationships and the human mind in general. Definitely worth a look.

"26.11. DVD, 1st viewing DIRECTED BY Michelangelo Antonioni It's funny how Antonioni's films about alienation feel so distant to me. Like with the other film I've seen from his "alienation trilogy", L'avventura, I could definitely appreciate the directing and writing, though. There is obviously a lot of psychological depth into these films and lots of hidden meanings - I loved those tiny, genius moments such as the elevator door closing behind Giovanni when the young lady tempts him or the hel"
