A distinctive, landmark vampire movie!

"Not so fast, my young friend! No-one can outrun their fate."

F.W. Murnau's 1922 silent film Nosferatu is a groundbreaking masterpiece of the vampire genre: a truly fascinating film that is the essential blueprint for all vampire movies that were to follow. Murnau fundamentally gave birth to the horror genre with this silent film from the German Expressionism era of filmmaking. At t... read more

''Blood! Your precious blood!''

Vampire Count Orlok expresses interest in a new residence and real estate agent Hutter's wife. Silent classic based on the story "Dracula."

Max Schreck: Graf Orlok

Made in 1922, Nosferatu is the first big screen adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and it is by far the best.
A free adaptation of the famous book,... read more

Nosferatu is an unofficial silver-screen adaptation of Bram Stoker's classic, Dracula. Nosferatu also happens to be the No. 1 best horror film I've seen and all other horror films fail in comparison.

I've seen this film in both the black & white "ugly" version and the restored colour version with beautiful cyan and brown colours and the font style had also been changed. When I first... read more

" Max Schreck is still the most frightening-looking movie vampire ever in this alternate take on Bram Stoker's Dracula (renamed because the filmmakers couldn't get the rights to the story). It also introduced the cool "rising stiff as a board on a hinge" maneuver of getting out of a coffin."

Year By Year Of My Favorite Flix (94 movies items)

" Before there was Lestat, Blade, Eli, that whimpy, waspy whitey, Edward Cullen, or even Dracula hisself, there was this guy. Not only was ol' Noss was the first vampire ever to be captured on screen, but also, still is. IMO, by far, the creepiest looking bloodsucker of all time. Even by early cinema standards, this would've been the type of movie that would've had you running towards a Disney flick afterwards. Or, since Disney movies didn't exist yet, would've made you wish that they did."
