" Captive Bolt Pistol Chigurh seems to prefer to use a Captive Bolt Pistol on his victims when he can. He also uses it to blow out door locks. The Captive Bolt Pistol is a pneumatic gun that fires a bolt into the brains of cattle to stun them before slaughter. Like the name suggests the bolt never entirely leaves the gun, it is shot out by air (or a blank) and then retracts back into the gun by return springs. Though not a "firearm" it is a gun and does play a big role in several scenes. "

"BEST PICTURE WINNER Rating: 9/10 "Whatcha got ain't nothin new. This country's hard on people, you can't stop what's coming, it ain't all waiting on you. That's vanity." Powerfull performances from it's three leads, and it is pretty much flawless. But, then the last scene arrives and drags the movie a bit down.. "What's the most you ever lost on a coin toss?""

“No Country For Old Men is something of an oddity when it comes to Academy Award winners. Violent films have won Oscars before (The Departed’s win the year before confirms this) but the recently the Oscars have favoured either the lavish or the ‘important’. No Country For Old Men is certainly not a lavish film and its importance is shrouded in the tonality of a traditional thriller and yet it managed to beat off competition from far more Oscar suitable candidates to win its Best Picture award. I think more than anything else my shock at No Country For Old Men’s victory comes from the Academy Awards rewarding a film I legitimately liked. Usually films I like don’t make the Oscar shortlist or are snubbed in favour of more ‘Oscar Friendly’ fare. I certainly have more favourite fi” read more

“In «No Country For Old Men» action placed on today but it could also act as a classic westerns. Set against the vast deserts of Texas deals with issues such as greed, the amorality, the brutalization of society and belief in values and methods are no longer useful to the new world. The Coen stylize the perfect frames. The times when brute force is shown are those implied by the sophisticated effect. Persistent and painful build up the atmosphere with the absolute silence on the growing tension. No word or gesture will not be wasted. Extract excellent performances from the entire cast, culminating in the paranoid, superhuman killer Bardem (who rightly won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor). A character with no conscience, more force of nature than man, who follows his own code of ethics” read more

A very good movie

“The Coen brothers finally did it! They finally got their deserved oscar! The only low point with this movie is that there was such a hype when it came out that I was actually a little disappointed. I mean it was very good, definitely, but it wasn't great. I sure want to see it again to make up my mind. And yesterday, I finally saw it again. Even though I appreciated it more than the first time, I was still not completely blown away. I mean, the directing was exquisite, the acting was off the charts, the story was pretty good but something was missing there to make it truelly spellbinding and, personally, I still prefer 'There will be blood'. Still, there was a great cast (Tommy Lee Jones, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Woody Harrelson, Kelly Macdonald), especially Brolin who, thanks to his pe” read more

Badass Central!! (42 movies items)

"Anton Chigurh Badass line: "What's the most you've ever lost on a coin toss?" Badass qualities: He bases who lives and who dies on the toss of a coin. The complete flatline in the emotions department. The ability to walk away from most injuries and patch himself back up without flinching. One awesome boltgun. Chigurh's Deathcount: 10"
