Reviews of Music and Lyrics

Very fun

This film has fun music, great chemistry between the actors, and is a cute story. Hugh Grant is every girl's dream come true - genuine, handsome, musical, and expressive. Drew Barrymore is lovable, as usual, and she makes the character believable. This is a nostalgic, warm-fuzzy kind of movie, so bring it to girl's night out!

Music & Lyrics Review

This is your basic rom-com, made from your basic rom-com blue prints. It is, like most of its genre, a nice watch. Easy to follow, warm and fuzzy, inevitably forgettable.

The only thing that makes 'Music & Lyrics' worth my recommendation is the tongue-in-cheek way it was made. It doesn't expect to be taken seriously, it doesnt pretend to deal with any real issues. A further plus is the wonderful 80's song, sung by Alex Fletcher's (Hugh Grant) has been band 'Pop'...it is a hilarious and entirely accurate parody of the 80's pop song and video, which I could no stop singing for days.

Music and Lyrics

Music and Lyrics is completely sappy, predictable, and silly---but, in spite of all this, is also completely enjoyable.

the best part of the movie is the 1980's style music---especially the music video, and the Pop-Up video-type facts on the Pop music video at the end of the movie, while the credits roll.

This is definitely one I will watch agan.

enjoyable

Alex Fletcher (Hugh Grant) from the 1980s band named PoP, needs to write a song within the next few days for Cora Corman (Haley Bennett), an internationally acclaimed singer. Soon Alex meets Sophie Fisher (Drew Barrymore) who apparently has a talent for writing lyrics, but refuses to acknowledge it.

Filled with references to 1980s music bands, this is a light romantic comedy for those fans of such music & lyrics. Drew & Hugh have a nice chemistry, and sing rather well (they did the singing parts themselves). Brad Garrett is just perfect as Alex's manager, and hilarious as always.
A good comedy from start to finish. Never one dull moment.

It makes me feel good, sense of humor... opening with POP MV('80 band). Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore go together like music and lyrics...
