If I'm not mistaken, it is the most succesfull James Bond movie with Roger Moore and the most succesfull James Bond movie until the Pierce Brosnan period so it is quite an achievement. I'm not a big fan of Roger Moore but he delivers a competent performance, as usual. The whole space aspect was something really hype back then and the audience must has been quite blown away. I wasn't really impress... read more

One of Drax's thugs, the sinister Chan, attempts to kill 007 at the lab but when that fails, he follows Bond to Venice and tries again there. Bond & Goodhead follow Drax's trail to Brazil, where they once again run into the 7' Goliath Jaws, a towering giant with metal teeth. The Ups: Sexy Corinne Clery. Richard Kiel steals the movie even if he is laughably "unkillable" here. Great production values. The title song.
The Downs: Hugo Drax is a boring villain as Michael Lonsdale doesn't seem remotely interested. Love interest Goodhead have a fun name but is forgettable. Stupid laser effects. Laughable fight with a rubber snake. "

Rewatch for this too. Richard Kiel is back just because and little makes sense. It's still better paced and structured than something like The Man with the Golden Gun, which while being entertaining, kinda went on for a comedy-side in all what was going on. And unlike the two earlier Moore's, the more boring parts are reduced to the beginning and the ending battle - which is exactly the same with The Spy Who Loved Me, but with lasers instead of machine guns - is pretty hilarious. "In the 70's, space and space related films, were huge, really huge.
So.... Let's put James Bond, in space!
There is only a few Bond films, that I don't like, this is one of them."
