An average movie

The flick is easily the least appreciated of the Mission Impossible franchise but I think it doesn't deserve such a bad rep. Indeed, it was the most succesfull installment (until 2012 when the 4th movie came out) and it was the highest grossing movie in 2000. Of course, it has barely anything to do with Mission Impossible and it is basically a one-man-show by Tom Cruise but it didn't bother me. Wh... read more

Shame they can't just let a movie end with the same feeling it ran with. This touchy-feely ending crap is just horrible.

Mission Impossible 2 is a very difficult film to review, because for the most part, it's let down by a single issue: it's unspeakably boring. It seems that director John Woo was more interested in directing a generic love-story than a spy flick, resulting in a weirdly slow (and uneventful) first hour. During the second hour, Woo must have realized how crushingly dull the first half of his film was... read more

Review of Mission: Impossible II

“Mission Impossible 2 is a very difficult film to review, because for the most part, it's let down by a single issue: it's unspeakably boring. It seems that director John Woo was more interested in directing a generic love-story than a spy flick, resulting in a weirdly slow (and uneventful) first hour. During the second hour, Woo must have realized how crushingly dull the first half of his film was, and crammed as much action as he could into the second hour. But even then, these action scenes only add up to lots and lots of mindless shooting, a car/motorcycle chase that lasts far too long, and a well-choreographed (but ultimately tedious) hand-to-hand fight scene. The first hour is a bore, but the second is so mindlessly constructed and even pointless, that one almost wishes to return to t” read more

Movie Reviews (part 9) (50 movies items)

" The Ups: There is much action to see here. Thandie Newton is a gorgeous damsel in distress. The Downs: It feels like John Woo remakes former glories or other Asian action films. It lacks a good story. It overdoes the masks and several times feel more like an unoffical "Face/Off" sequel. Too much Cruise Bond here. The main villain overacts badly. "

"The Mission Impossible movies, starring Tom Cruise, now number four movies. The first one wasn't my favorite, but it was well done, and had good action. But the second movie... felt like watching Tom Cruise flexing his ego for two hours. The story got lost somewhere between action scenes involving the Ethan Hunt (Cruise) character taking down a dozen baddies all by himself. The team vibe of the first movie was completely gone, and the movie seemed to spin out of control in the last twenty m"
