I am/was guilty of having a soft spot for Sandra Bullock, I did used to like her back in the day and it was exactly that reason that I gave this film a go when it was shown on TV. There's nothing like watching a film for free and thank goodness I didn't shell out any cash to see this tripe. I really wish there was some kind of filter to prevent this poor quality of film ever making it to the general public.

Sandra Bullock isn't even hot in this slapstick romp which fails as both slapstick and as a romp. I think of other films with similar plotlines which are just better than this and weep. But don't worry, it got a sequel.

Miss Congeniality review

Totally a chick flick, and I love how silly and simultaneously sexy Sandra Bullock can be. She's great with the gags and physical comedy and the movie's really cute. My own irksome bit - that I choose to ignore when enjoying the movie - is that she falls for Benjamin Bratt's character. He's a total womanizing sleeze, and then finds himself attracted to Gracie after she gets all made up. I'm really not sure if I'm comfortable with the kind of message that sends.

Congenially Bad

It's Legally Blonde (brunette) with a badge and gun, where is Reese Witherspoon when you need her.
