A bit of suspense, a bit of action, a bit of dystopia... Mel Gibson before he went wacko. What else do we need?

In a dystopian future Australia, law & order has begun to break down. Berserk motorcycle gang member, Crawford "Nightrider" Montizano, has escaped police custody and is attempting to outrun the Main Force Patrol (MFP) in a stolen Pursuit Special (Holden Monaro). Though he manages to elude his initial pursuers, the MFP's top pursuit man, Max Rockatansky, then engages the less-skilled Nightrider in ... read more

Cinema '79 (14 movies items)

" Dystopia, Australian-style; this film, along w/ The Road Warrior, opened the cinematic door for dystopian films and Mel Gibson. It isn't the finest of movies (in fact, Road Warrior was far better) but it is interesting and very much the epitomy of a cult film. Engrossing and enjoyable."

20 Overrated Movies (20 movies items)

"Why it's Overrated: Has a rating of 7 on IMDB. What I think: Yes, that's all I have on why this is overrated because this is one of the worst movies I've ever seen and should have nowhere near a 7. There's literally nothing good about this movie. Utter shit."
