“By now, I have seen almost all the movies directed by Marc Forster and he is definitely a hell of a director. Unfortunately, his career took a huge blow with 'Quantum of Solace'. Personally, I don't think this movie was that bad but he took much of the blame. Anyway, I hope he will recover soon and deliver once again some other great gems. Unfortunately, it seems that we will have to wait for a little bit longer since his following feature was once again rather disappointing. I mean, this true story is quite amazing but even though the material was really interesting, the whole thing never really flies and I never felt really involved during this movie. "After Gamer, I began to wonder where was Gerald Butler. Then a coworker hands me Machine Gun Preacher later during the week. I have to say that I throughly enjoyed this film. Butler, the film's lead, gives an outstanding performance as the former drug dealer turned preacher turned freedom fighter/mercenary. It is a lot of emotions, and quite the character arc to display in one film, but Butler somehow manages to pull it off. Granted, it can feel a little preachy (pun intended, sorta) at times,"
