By now, I have seen almost all the movies directed by Marc Forster and he is definitely a hell of a director. Unfortunately, his career took a huge blow with 'Quantum of Solace'. Personally, I don't think this movie was that bad but he took much of the blame. Anyway, I hope he will recover soon and deliver once again some other great gems. Another drama based on a true story.. Another good movie in this month.. Another great role of Gerard Butler.. Some parts are a little bit theatrical, the parts related to the church and religion, and in such a long movie, I wish there were more scenes related to the situation in Africa.. But it's definitely a movie that I recommend to everyone who love this kind of genre.."

Gerard Butler does it again and this time with one of the most meaningful messages in a movie that has ever been made."

Personally, I don't think this movie was that bad but he took much of the blame. Anyway, I hope he will recover soon and deliver once again some other great gems. Unfortunately, it seems that we will have to wait for a little bit longer since his following feature was once again rather disappointing. I mean, this true story is quite amazing but even though the material was really interesting, the whole thing never really flies and I never felt really involved during this movie. Let's take the intro for example. You see Sam Childers get out of prison, he gets back on the drugs and booze, robs some drug dealers, alm” read more

"After Gamer, I began to wonder where was Gerald Butler. Then a coworker hands me Machine Gun Preacher later during the week. I have to say that I throughly enjoyed this film. Butler, the film's lead, gives an outstanding performance as the former drug dealer turned preacher turned freedom fighter/mercenary. It is a lot of emotions, and quite the character arc to display in one film, but Butler somehow manages to pull it off. Granted, it can feel a little preachy (pun intended, sorta) at times,"

Based on the exploits of Sam Childers, drug addict and typical hopeless case geared on a life of violence, who after being born-again, became a crusader for misplaced children in Sudan, is the most heart-rendering, touching movie I've seen this year. Dismiss the other poster than makes it look like an action flick (the title too), "Machine Gun Preacher" is a story of love--the ammo of the heart. Gerard Butler is a revelation."
