Tries but fails

It´s not really that bad but lets you down. It could be great with, i dont know, more time? more experience? more money? who knows.

At it´s best (meaning = action scenes) its just wonderful but the bad character presentation, weak story and slow moments drag this movie down.

It´s a weird feeling giving a harsh (not so harsh, ok) review to any of Miyazaki´s work ... read more

March 2013 Movie Journal - Xanadon't (29 movies items)

" A fun offering from director Hayao Miyazaki that predates the formation of Studio Ghibli proper. The central character, Lupin, is based (I guess) on a Manga comic (whatever that is) and there are other movies that feature him. Maybe I'll check some of them out. At any rate, he's a very fun and likeable smart-ass, jokester, smooth operator of a guy and his side-kick is pretty chill too (I really don't know how else to say it). They're a couple of well-practiced, most-wanted, and highly unprofe"

What 10 Ghibli films would be like as games (10 movies items)

"BONUS - Cliff Hanger, the only other Miyazaki “game” that exists What’s the game about? Back in the 1980s, laserdisc games were all the rage, and Cliff Hanger jumped on the gaming fad started by Dragon’s Lair. Clips from Miyazaki’s early feature, Castle of Cagliostro, were used to simulate action. What type of game was it? Castle of Cagliostro was the first film Miyazaki directed, a position he earned after he directed multiple episodes of the Lupin III TV series that the film was "

Non-Disney, Non-Pixar, Non-Ghibli Animated Films (79 movies items)

"When making this list I took the tough decision of excluding Studio Ghibli films as I felt the majority of them had become too well known to feature on a list intended to highlight overlooked animated features. But there are undoubtedly films released by that wonderful studio which have not become as famous as their hits 'Spirited Away', 'Princess Mononoke' and 'My Neighbour Totoro'. The likes of 'Whisper of the Heart', 'Only Yesterday' and 'My Neighbours the Yamadas' are just a few examples o"
