Decent apocalyptic thriller...

"I know how this sounds, but I've mapped these numbers to the dates of every major global disaster from the last 50 years in perfect sequence. Earthquakes, fires, tsunamis... The next number on the chain predicts that tomorrow, somewhere on the planet, 81 people are going to die, in some kind of tragedy."

Knowing is Alex Proyas' take on the typical end-of-the-world disaster movie fo... read more

Is been years I don't put any faith in a Nicolas Cage movie and this one wasn't different. I heard a lot of people saying how good it was and I even had some hope about it but during the movie all went away and honestly, I think it's great. A great movie, a great history with amazing special efects and is not that original I know that but is good, is really good. For me is not a Nicolas Cage movie... read more

Sentimenta... read more

The future kind of sucks. (304 movies items)

"Reason for the future sucking: Nicholas Cage's character discovers a time capsule, that predicts the end of the world. But not the greatest scary event to come, the airing of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. Year it takes place: Unknowish"

Filmsite's Greatest Disaster Film Scenes (107 movies items)

"Alex Proyas' sci-fi action disaster thriller was set up with the opening, fifty years later, of a Boston-area elementary school time capsule with letters written by schoolchildren in 1959; the letter of sad, slightly-disturbed schoolgirl Lucinda Embry (Lara Robinson) had seemingly random numbers, deciphered as meaningful code by MIT astrophysics professor John Koestler (Nicolas Cage). He guessed that a series of numbers, such as 911012996, referred to dates of worldwide disasters in the last 50 "

My Movie Diary 2013 (71 movies items)

"6.3 M. Night Shyamalan's brooding, dark, end-of-the-world movie is visually terrifying and stunning, but again, the story has holes bigger than...oh okay, it's by director Alex Proyas. Probably, one of the more depressing movies of late sees the Earth burn to extinction by the Sun, together with its terrible acting. "

Films Roger Ebert liked that everyone else dislike (38 movies items)

" Knowing" is among the best science-fiction films I've seen -- frightening, suspenseful, intelligent and, when it needs to be, rather awesome. In its very different way, it is comparable to the great "Dark City," by the same director, Alex Proyas. That film was about the hidden nature of the world men think they inhabit, and so is this one. Ebert's rating: 4/4"
