"I watch the Japanese version and you feel like watching a totally different film. The movie didn't had as many silly moments and bad acting that the US version did. The movie did had some placing issues, but I found the rest of the movie to be very enjoyable. "

DVD

" I used to think that this movie was incredibly overrated until I finally got ahold of the Japanese version. The American version contains a ton of useless scenes with American actors and Ifukube's amazing score is replaced by music from Creature from the black lagoon and others in the universal library. What a difference a score really makes. King Kong vs Godzilla is a lot of fun and with Ifukube's memorable score, the climactic battle is truly unforgettable."

"The two most famous and loved giant monsters of cinema fight each other! Yeah, King Kong gets a bit bigger here than he was in the 1933 classic, to reach Godzilla's size, but who cares?
Their brawl is great, and I don't get tired of watching it.
Although the first Godzilla is my favorite of the series, maybe this is the film I watched the most, even more than the original."

"
King Kong Vs. Godzilla really kicked off the campy giant monster-on-giant monster romp, which would appear throughout many other entries in the series and in its several imitators.
Many of the Godzilla movies since the late Sixties have had a camp attribute that's of as much value to series fans as the allegorical basis for Goji's creation. But here's the thing: King Kong Vs. Godzilla chose to have giant monster camp. This was long before films like Godzilla Vs. Gigan and Godzilla Vs. Megalon,"
