"Life will find a way." Jurassic Park is a truly amazing movie, and one of Spielberg's true masterpieces. Although made over a decade ago, the special effects still look phenomenal and fundamentally flawless to this day. The powerhouse effects make the dinosaurs live and are truly breathtaking at times. Based loosely on the novel by Michael Crichton, billionaire John Hammond (Attenborough) creates a remarkable theme park on an isolated artificial island filled with real dinosaurs that have been brought to life using huge advancements in state-of-the-art scientific technology. At first I thought the dinosaurs were really alive, great props. The original is always the best!

Its a classic in its own right, and though I havent seen many, its probably the best dinosaur movie out there today.
Sam Neill is great, and its a must see movie!

I have very fond memories of this film. I remember it as a child, the hype surrounding its release and the ultimate cinema experience I had in a packed out showing with my family. I was pretty scared as a youngster and rightly so! It's quite gory at times. When I grew older I came to appreciate the lead characters, including the untouchable Sam Neill and the real star of the show, Sam Neill's hat. The story was fantastic and the graphics were like nothing I'd seen before. They simply don't make summer blockbusters like they used to. The special effects nowadays look incredibly dated. It's amazing how you realise that in the present day, even though you were so amazed when you first saw them on the big screen. This ranks up there with the best adventure films every made. Who could not love the first time they've seen this film, and the 'thump' 'thump' tremors of the approaching T-Rex. Crichton wrote an incredible book and Spielberg turned it to life like no other could've done. The special effects were incredible for its time (some scenes do look a bit 'fake' by today's standards) and this film single handedly started up huge marketing storm of dinosaur-anything for many years to come. The original JP was also helped by having Crichton in control of the screenplay, whereas the sequel, Lost World, though based on a true book sequel, had someone else in charge of the screenplay.
