I was so excited to watch this movie. It was always there, waiting for me to rent it, but, for some reason, I never did it. So, one day, finally, I didn't have something more exciting than this one to rent. And that was my biggest mistake. ANYTHING could be more exciting than this movie. The story is just messed up, the characters doens't have a real interaction between themselves, the movies does... read more

Since I kept hearing some really great things about this flick, I was really eager to check it out and I had some rather high expectations. Indeed, according to Roger Ebert, it was apparently one of the best movies released in 2005. In fact, according to him, it was so good that it was even better than ‘Brokeback mountain’ so the whole thing should be pretty damned amazing. Well, I finally sa... read more

A dealer in outsider art threatens the equilibrium of her middle-class in-laws in North Carolina. Madeline is a go-getting art gallery owner from Chicago, recently married to George, a near-perfect Southern beau. When Madeline needs to close a deal with a reclusive North Carolina artist, George introduces her to his family: prickly mother Peg, taciturn father Eugene, cranky brother Johnny, and Johnny's pregnant, childlike wife Ashley, who is awe-struck by her glamorous sister-in-law. Madeline's presence exposes the fragile family dynamics as hidden resentments and anxieties surface.

BradWesley123's Movie Journal- February 2016 (26 movies items)

" DVD- 1hr. 46min. First Viewing It bit too mundane at times, Junebug is deftly told story about the lingering issues in a family that simply can't go away. The script is probably the film's MVP; little moments create the narrative, crafting a deeply felt film knows that some problems never go away, but also knows that others can lead to understanding a change, if only slightly. The cast is superb too, though it's Amy Adams who steals every scene; this was her big breakout, and you can tell why f"
