Description

When all but one of MI5's top agents are killed in an explosion. It is left to the inept Johnny English (Rowan Atkinson) to try and solve who has stolen the crown jewels from the Tower of London. Accompanied by his assistant Bough (Ben Miller), Johnny bungles his way through one scrape after another.

Wasted Chance at Greatness.

Rowan Atkinson completely threw his chance at greatness down the pan with this film. In the past he provided us the Joy of Black Adder, and the slap stick Mr Bean who provides nothing more than he promises in just pure silliness. Jonny English though tried to promise pure comedy unlike the 2 above, tried to combine spy action and comedy in a silly way but wound up being predictable and pointless. The plot was weak and the jokes were baron of wit. I remember watching this at the cinema in extreme discomfort as my face cringed so far inwards i was devouring myself. I wouldn't recommend this film to anybody really, if you want comedy and it HAS to be Atkinson then watch Black Adder, if you love Black Adder already and respect Rowan Atkinson, dont watch this.
