To Keep In Mind When Crossing Over

4 years, 2 months ago at Feb 14 2:08
I highly recommend anyone who hasn't seen this movie to see it straightaway. This was my third time seeing it, but the first time I truly could appreciate it. The first viewing I was too young, the second time I was too stoned, and this third time I was sober and clear minded and it was perfect.

Definitely a favorite of mine now -
Very deep, very good, + a little disturbed. I... read more

"'The only thing that burns in Hell is the part of you that won't let go of life, your memories, your attachments. They burn them all away' Story: A vietnam veteran trying to rebuild his life is haunted by flashbacks of his first marriage, his dead son and the war, while reality crumbles and separating it from delusion becomes more and more complicated The Twist:

"First viewing - Feb. 23rd Ended my movie run for the day with this film which I'd long wanted to watch & thus had no intention of letting it slip away from me. I vaguely recall seeing posters & ads & whatnot when it came out, but was too young to see it at the time & then gradually forgot about it. Then I kept seeing praise for it around here over the years I've been on the site, so I made mental notes to check it out. And what a ride this one is. If you're patient like me & can roll with a mo"

WatchMojo’s Top 10 Superstitions (10 movies items)

" *Ladder Matters Not only could something fall on you if you walk under a ladder; you could also be tempting fate altogether. Because an open ladder forms a triangle, and that shape used to symbolize both life and Christianity’s Holy Trinity, it was considered bad luck to break it walking through. Another theory holds that since people were once hung from ladders, their spirits would haunt the space beneath."

Multiple Personalities (Spoiler Alert) (15 movies items)

"This movie is often described as perverted, disturbing, full of gross monsters and so on.. Actually the scenes with monsters are not so many, but "Jacob's Ladder" is still a good and creepy movie! Thumbs up for the scene where he is carried through an asylum full of strange and gory people. Did you know? It seems that "Silent Hill"'s creator were inspired by this movie in the creation of their videogames. "

LICENSED NES GAMES THAT DON'T EXIST (25 movies items)

" There already is a Jacob's Ladder videogame; it's called Silent Hill 3. Okay, maybe not, but SH3 takes an undeniably large chunk of inspiration from Adrian Lyne's film. In fact, I guarantee that there's a post on a message board somewhere where someone claims that "Jacob's Ladder ripped off Silent Hill 3". That's the gameplay, then; a NES version of Silent Hill 3, but with the added complications of minigames where you have to sort mail into the correct pigeonhole or repeatedly hammer the butt"

Filmsite Greatest Tearjerkers Scenes/Movie Moments (318 movies items)

"In an hallucinatory scene, lethally-wounded Vietnam veteran Jacob Singer (Tim Robbins) had a horrific experience in hell/purgatory where he was bluntly told by an Evil Doctor (Davidson Thomson) that he was dead ("You've been killed. Don't you remember?"). He was then visited by his ex-wife Sarah (Patricia Kalember) and their two sons while in the hospital, as he asserted to her: "I'm not dead, I'm alive. I'm not dead." She responded: "Oh, Jacob. I still love you, whatever it's worth," but their "
