After making all those gangsters flicks, Scorsese decided to make for the first time a 'familly' feature. Honestly, in contrary to most of the critics and viewers, I wasn't exactly blown away by the whole thing. I mean, first of all, I don't think it is really a funny movie for kids in general. " Scorsese tries to pay homage to the magic of cinema. For about fifteen minutes of footage in Hugo, he succeeds. The rest is not good. He should have made a traditional biopic about his subject, because the fifteen minutes we get of that movie here are awesome.
